James Bond 007 Skyfall Daniel Craig Fashion Review
Saturday, October 27, 2012
If there is one fashion icon through the ages that men have aspired to look like, it is undoubtedly James Bond, agent 007, super spy, super stud, super stylish and the most fashionable. Every actor that has portrayed this ageless hero, has showcased the best menswear trend of that generation ... and going through the 23 Bond movies till now, is the best education for any fashionista, and the ultimate guide of how a man of class and taste should look like ! Take a look at the trailer of the latest Bond movie SkyFall below !!
We were amused to note the amount of feedback we got, ... on our previous blogpost about the Biography of James Bond from the men in our lives ... Friends and family called up to debate the information we had put up ... and these were males we have known for a long time ... never could we have imagined ..... that they would know so much about a hero on celluloid or ... follow and copy the rakish style of recent Bonds on screen !!! Therefore, we at Delhi Style Blog decided to bring you the latest Bond, Daniel Craig and decode his style in SkyFall for you :)
As you can see in the vid above ...Tom Ford is Bond's tailor for the 2012 James Bond movie SkyFall, starring Daniel Craig. Tom Ford worked closely with SkyFall costume designer Jany Temime to create a range of made-to-measure tailored clothing, eveningwear, suits, shirts, knitwear, ties, accessories and eyewear (sunglasses) which we show below. Daniel Craig is channeling the 1960's narrow lapels, narrow tie look with a very modern and current trend of super slim fits .
Tom Ford's James Bond Evening Tuxedo in Selfridges, London
|
The Tuxedo :
The Tuxedo is a navy blue textured satin with black shawl collar and flapless pockets, worn with a crisp white dress shirt , dress studs, matching pocket square and bow tie. It is worn with a black satin cummerband, and black straight tapered trousers. Navy blue jacket, white shirt and black trousers is an all time classic combination :)
Daniel Craig in a TOM FORD black 2 piece notch lapel O' Connor suit, white shirt and black silk tie in the New York premiere of Skyfall |
Tom Ford Falconer suit |
The Suit :
The 60s look is everywhere now and nobody carries it better than Daniel Craig with his super fit body, defined muscles and 6 packs in short jackets, slim lapels, slim trousers worn with poplin shirts, slim ties and silk pocket squares in his breast pocket. It is thorougly classic tailoring .... the jacket is tight through the body and sleeves , and it is short like the current mens fashion trends (it doesn’t completely cover Daniel Craig's buttocks while traditionally a mens jacket should be covering his rear ... but we ladies don't mind ... Daniel Bond Craig is most definitely porn for females .. hahahahaha bring it on !!! ). The jacket has padded shoulders and a 3-button front, with narrow lapels that roll gently over the top button. The cuffs also have 3 buttons, with the last button left open, flapped pockets and a single vent. The flat-front trousers are also super slim fit and have a very low rise. All in all, a very modern fashionable fit. Just remember : if you wear a 3 button front jacket ... just do the middle button only ... and never button the last button in your jacket cuff !!
Tom Ford two button dress shirt |
Tom Ford tab collar shirt |
The Shirt :
Tom Ford white shirts are a thing of fascination, it instantly separates the men from the boys. As it is ... nothing but nothing can beat a man in a white shirt or Tee ... it is the most time tested style that you can never go wrong with, no matter your age or complexion !!! The Tom Ford shirts for Bond features a tab collar where the points are fastened together by a strip of material underneath the tie knot .... that is why his tie knot sits so well and proud like in the pics . First popular in the Twenties and favoured by the Duke of Windsor, the tab enjoyed its last revival in the Sixties before collar stiffeners became the norm for formal shirts. Its a classic style and always correct with a lounge suit.
Tom Ford Orbis Non Sufficit cufflinks |
The Cuff Links :
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Mid Size Chronometer |
Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean |
The Watch :
Bond wears two Omega pieces in SkyFall ... Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean watch .... and Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Mid Size Chronometer
Tom Ford Marko TF144 |
The Sunglasses :
What is a super spy without his sunglasses ? Daniel Craig is pictured wearing the Tom Ford Marko TF144 in Skyfall.
The Shoes :
James Bond wears Crockett & Jones shoes in SKYFALL. Northampton shoe maker, Crockett & Jones have supplied 4 styles to live up to James Bond’s expectations. These include; Alex in Black Calf leather, Highbury in Black Calf leather, Tetbury chukka boots in Black Nubuck and Islay boots in Dark Brown Scotch Grain.
Levi Leather Jacket |
Billy Reid Navy Peacoat |
The Casual Jacket :
James Bond (Daniel Craig) wears a brown Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1930s Leather Jacket in SkyFall. Bond wears the jacket when he has a more rugged look (stubble beard, casual wear). He also wears a trim and short Billy Reid navy peacoat.
Orlebar Brown Setter Sky swimming shorts |
Swimwear :
Now this is where most men go wrong .... you don't have to follow fashion in swim wear ... after all the purpose of swimming trunks lies in its usage ... the Orlebar Brown Setter Sky swimming shorts that Daniel Craig wears in SkyFall is the perfect style that suits a man ... short, fitted, eye appealing but decent ... and oh so manly !!
The Car :
The Aston Martin DB5 ... first driven by the first Bond Sean Connery in Goldfinger .... the Aston Martin DB5 is the Bond car in SkyFall.
The Bike :
James Bond (Daniel Craig) rides a customised Honda CRF250R motocross dirt bike in the opening sequence chase scene that was filmed in Turkey.
The Gun :
The gun of choice used by all Bond actors till date is the Walther PPK (Polizeipistole Kurz - Police pistol 'short') (PPK/S nine-millimeter short)... and in SkyFall it is coded to James Bond's palm prints ... hand recognition technology !
Daniel Craig as James Bond doesnot only look good, kill the villain, and save the hot babe and planet .... he also happens to be a men's fashion trendsetter .... but what else do you expect of a man lucky enough to be dressed by Tom Ford ... the designer who has vowed to bring back the "Man" in "manliness" !!!! Hope you enjoyed the post .... we are waiting eagerly for SkyFall to hit the Delhi screens :)
